Thrilla in Manila

I’m 3 weeks into the great Philippines adventure and I gotta tell you that I’m enjoying every day. There was that brief week or so that I was struck down with ‘dump-itis.’ That’s what too much local food does to a foreign stomach.
I’d love to write down all the awesome things I’ve done while I’ve been here but its been so long since I last updated that a quick recap of a few things.
Today began the tropical island portion of the vacation. This morning we woke up in beautiful Pagodpod the northern most point in the Phillipines. Imagine walking onto a postcard of your favourite island getaway. I had to send a few people a snapshot and a short video of the beach to a few of my friends through my phone. Maybe Sarah can upload it here later.
Later in the day we went to Baluarte where the animals actually roamed free among the visitors. You’ll never get as close to the animals in any Australian zoo. The only thing that kept me from petting the lions and tigers was my fear of violent flesh tearing feeding. The orang-utans were my absolute favourite animal. Their natural curiosity is amazingly infectious.
Last week was my cousin Ruth’s wedding. In my whole 2 wedding experience Ruth’s wedding was definitely the most lavish. Reception was held in the ruins of an old Philippines city – the famous ‘Walled City.’ Great food, great lighting effects, and fireworks to boot.
That’s it for now. Photos to come!
One last thing – Illyria I tried logging back into my wordpress account with no luck! Where abouts are you in Manila?? Are you living here or just on holidays aswell?
LATER DAYS!
